Palin Power Outage
When John McCain nominated Sarah Palin for his Vice Presidential running mate most felt that this would level the playing field with Barack Obama. Obama had chosen Joe Biden for his running mate which made some Hillary Clinton supporters cry foul. So one would think that Palin would grab hold of the women voters and ignite a fire under the smoldering McCain campaign.
Even Palin political gear from t-shirts to toy figurines were selling like hotcakes, or rather selling like the oh so popular Obama election tees and buttons that quickly became fashion statements.
So what happened?
Even John McCain has stopped the majority of McCain-Palin ads and reverted to the original McCain only ads. If he still believes that Palin is the key to winning, then why no Palin ads?
So far Sarah has brought to the election a pregnant teenage daughter, a shotgun wedding, troopergate and a hacked email account.
Her teenage daughter should probably be off limits, however the teen pregnancy is really hard to hide during an election process. It's very interesting to note that while John McCain says he knew about the pregnant teen during the screening process, Palin acted as if she was oblivious to the upcoming event. And then all of the sudden the announcement that the self proclaimed redneck boyfriend wants to marry the dear sweet pregnant girl and live happily ever after. What better way for Palin to let the country know she supports the right to bear arms.
And then there is what has become known as troopergate. Currently an investigation is underway to show that Sarah Palin misused her power in office by forcing the termination of the Public Safety Commissioner, Walt Monegan, when he refused to bow to pressure to terminate the State Trooper who was going through a nasty divorce with Palin's sister. And to make matters worse Sarah's husband, Todd Palin, who has been subpoenaed to testify, has refused to testify.
And who has not heard about Mrs. Palin's famed hacked email account which the Gawker refuses to take down. The email account must have been legit, because Palin's people stated it was an "invasion of her privacy." Hmmm, since Sarah was using personal emails for government business, is she really entitled to privacy?
Sarah has definitely lost her star appeal as seen in the recent polls. McCain-Palin has dropped significantly in the polls just last week as seen on Pollster. And according to CBS News, "While Palin remains popular among McCain voters, the poll suggests that the McCain campaign may have cause for concern. More than half of registered voters do not think Palin is prepared for the job of Vice President, and even McCain supporters cite 'inexperience' as what they like least about her. "
Well like her or hate her, here are a few designs available on t-shirts, yard signs, mugs, buttons and more. Enjoy!
