Obama's Pregnant Teen Daughter Discussion

Change Minds. Make History at CafePress.com

When John McCain announced Sarah Palin as his running mate, the campaign soon had another announcement to make. Sarah Palin has a pregnant teenager.

In making this announcement, Sarah stated that she was so proud of the decision her daughter had made to carry the child to term. But did Bristol Palin really have that choice?

It was not a choice, it was the Sarah Palin Doctine, that no one can have an abortion, even in cases of rape and incest. We will never know if this was truly Bristol's choice, or Sarah's law.

Furthermore, how can Sarah Palin preach that abstinence should be the only program taught in schools, when it did not even work for her family?

And then came the introduction of Levi, Bristol's boyfriend. Many things have been said about Levi. Some see him as the unwilling party involved in a shotgun wedding. Others see him as an aggressive redneck with definite issues. Some agree he is both a redneck and an unwilling husband-to-be.

His myspace page was deleted quickly after he was announced as the father-to-be, cleaned up and paraded  around for all to see at the republican Convention. Excerpts from his former page reveal his redneck side:

"I'm a f - - -in' redneck" who likes to snowboard and ride dirt bikes.

"But I live to play hockey. I like to go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing, shoot
            some s- - - and just f - - -in' chillin' I guess."

"Ya f - - - with me I'll kick [your] ass," he added.

He also claims to be "in a relationship," but states, "I don't want kids."

Now, what if Barack Obama had announced that he had a teenage daughter who was pregnant?

And what if at the Democratic Convention, Obama had introduced his daughter's boyfriend to the world?

And let's assume that Obama's daughter's "baby daddy" had a Myspace page that was similar to Levi's page?

Would the election be over?

Or would we embrace Obama as the Republican party has embraced Sarah Palin's pregnant teen? I think not. The reaction would be much more critical, and would most likely ruin all chances for a White House bid for Barack Obama.

Yes it would be a racist reaction, but there are those people out there that firmly believe that a black man should not be in office, and they are looking for any reason to keep him out.

But seriously, must Republicans check their intelligence at the door before they offer up their presidential nominees? One has to wonder why the Republicans have chosen to back their unqualified vice presidential candidate no matter what she says or does.
